Service Areas

We deliver from Murphy to Manteo, from Charlotte to Wilmington, and everywhere in between. The price always includes delivery to your address.

North Carolina runs about 500 miles from Murphy in the far southwest to Manteo out on Roanoke Island, and the ground under you changes three distinct times along the way. The mountains in the west hold Mount Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi River, and most sites up there are reached by gravel drives with switchbacks cut into a bank. The Piedmont carries Charlotte, the Triad and the Triangle across rolling red clay that slicks over in a summer thunderstorm and sets up hard by August. Below the fall zone the Sandhills take over, longleaf pine growing out of deep sand a loaded truck can sink into. East of that the coastal plain flattens into farm fields, drainage ditches and pocosin, then into the sounds and the barrier islands. NCDOT maintains nearly every rural road in the state, so the last quarter mile usually carries a four digit SR number rather than a county road name. Delivery planning here follows that ground more closely than it follows the road map.

Distance from the nearest depot is most of what moves a delivered price, which is why we ask for a ZIP code before quoting. Give us yours, in the form below or by calling (330) 510-5817, and we will confirm the route and the timing for your exact location.

Uptown Charlotte skyline seen from a tree lined residential street in the Piedmont

The Charlotte Region

Our shortest runs in North Carolina. The depot is inside the metro, so scheduling sets the date more than distance does. Typical delivery 1-2 weeks.

Charlotte is the busiest delivery map in the state and the easiest one to schedule, because the depot sits inside the metro rather than a county away. What decides most jobs here is the approach, not the haul. A tilt bed truck needs roughly 100 feet of straight, level run to slide a 40ft box off, and closer to 70 feet for a 20ft. The older streets in Dilworth, Elizabeth, Plaza Midwood and NoDa have willow oak canopy, narrow pavement and low service lines, and those settle the placement before we ever load. Out past I-485 the picture changes to sloped driveways and Piedmont red clay that slicks over in an afternoon thunderstorm, so we ask about grade and drainage before we book. Race shops around Mooresville and Concord keep containers for chassis, bodies and tires. Contractors working the Uptown towers and the warehouse corridors along I-85 use them as lockable job site storage. Many of the newer neighborhoods out toward Waxhaw and Ballantyne have homeowner association covenants, and reading those first saves a conversation later. We plan around the I-77 and I-277 pinch points, which usually means a morning or mid day window.

Rolling red clay farmland and a brick furniture plant on the edge of a Piedmont Triad town

The Triad

Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point, plus the furniture towns and the Uwharrie foothills below them. Typical delivery 1-2 weeks.

The Triad is about a hundred miles up I-85 from the Charlotte depot, which makes it one of the more predictable parts of our map. The ground is rolling red clay with hardwood stands, gentler than Charlotte's and easier to set on, though a wet spring still turns a sloped back yard into a problem worth talking through first. The furniture trade shapes the calendar here more than the weather does. High Point holds a furniture market twice a year, in April and October, and during those weeks the warehouses, showroom lots and truck lanes across Guilford, Davidson and Randolph counties fill right up, so we schedule on either side of it rather than through it. Manufacturers and freight brokers around Thomasville, Lexington and Archdale use containers for overflow, samples and returned freight. Down toward Liberty and Asheboro, the battery plant and its supplier base have put a lot of new construction on ground that was farmland recently, and job site storage follows that work. Mount Airy, Elkin and Yadkinville run on farm and shop deliveries where placement is usually straightforward and the drive is the only variable.

Raleigh skyline behind an oak shaded street of older brick and frame houses

The Triangle

Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, with the fastest growing suburbs in the state ringing them. Typical delivery 1-2 weeks.

The Triangle is the fastest growing part of North Carolina and the region where the drop spot changes most from one street to the next. Containers here run out of the Norfolk, Virginia depot, roughly a 180 mile trip, so we confirm the approach and the turnaround before we book rather than after. Inside Raleigh and Durham the older neighborhoods around Oakwood, Boylan Heights, Trinity Park and Watts-Hillandale have deep lots, alley access in places, and a hardwood canopy that decides the height clearance for us. Out in Apex, Holly Springs, Clayton and Wake Forest the lots are newer and wider, the soil is red clay over saprolite, and the usual question is whether the yard drains or holds. Trade contractors on the pharmaceutical and lab campuses through Research Triangle Park, Holly Springs and Clayton are steady buyers, because that work runs for years and tools have to stay on site. Two local rhythms are worth planning around: university move in and move out in August and May fills the roads, and the tolled sections of NC 540 change which route a truck takes.

Blue Ridge mountain ridgelines above a narrow valley road in western North Carolina

Western North Carolina and the High Country

Mountain grades and gravel switchbacks up top, the Catawba Valley foothills down below. We set the date early out here. Typical delivery 2-3 weeks.

Western North Carolina rewards a phone call before the truck rolls. Cabins and workshops around Boone, Banner Elk, Sylva and Franklin are reached by gravel drives with switchbacks, and a tilt bed truck cannot back a 40ft container up a grade it cannot see over. We ask for the approach angle, the width at the tightest turn, and whether there is a level run of about 100 feet at the end of it. Two 20ft containers often solve a site that will never take a 40ft, and that is a better answer than a wasted trip. Route planning matters here in a way it does not anywhere else in the state. The Blue Ridge Parkway does not allow commercial trucks, so every mountain run goes around it, and I-40 through the Pigeon River Gorge is still carrying one lane each way at 35 mph while NCDOT rebuilds it, with the full four lanes expected back in 2028. More than 99 percent of the roads damaged in the 2024 storm have reopened, and we confirm the last mile with you rather than assume it. Down in the foothills around Hickory, Morganton and Lenoir the work is furniture plants, data center trades and equipment yards, and placement is usually simple. Winter is the other variable, since a north facing grade can hold ice after the rest of the county has thawed, so we build slack into January and February.

Longleaf pines over a sandy lane in the North Carolina Sandhills

The Sandhills and the Cape Fear

Fayetteville and the pines down through Lumberton to Wilmington and the southern beaches. Typical delivery 1-2 weeks.

The Sandhills are exactly what the name says. Longleaf pine grows out of deep sand here, and that sand is the whole delivery conversation. A loaded truck can bog down in a soft lane that a pickup crosses without noticing, so we ask whether the last quarter mile is sand, clay or gravel, and whether there is a tractor nearby. On the other hand, once a container is set on sand it drains well, and a few pressure treated blocks under the corners keep the doors swinging true. Fayetteville runs on Fort Bragg and the contractor base around it, and those buyers want secure tool and parts storage more than anything else. Around Southern Pines, Pinehurst and Aberdeen the work is golf course maintenance, horse farms and residential builds on wooded lots with one narrow approach. Farm country through Sampson, Bladen and Robeson counties orders ahead of harvest for the same reason growers everywhere do. Down at the Cape Fear, Wilmington adds port drayage overflow, film production inventory and steady residential work, and the beach lots at Southport, Oak Island and the Brunswick County strand need the approach walked before delivery day. From late summer into fall we watch the tropical forecast and move dates rather than push through weather.

Flat eastern North Carolina farmland with a drainage ditch and a pine line on the horizon

Eastern North Carolina and the Outer Banks

The coastal plain, the sounds and the barrier islands. Longer runs, so we set the date early and work to beat it. Typical delivery 2-3 weeks.

Eastern North Carolina is the longest haul on our map and the one where planning ahead pays the most. The land is flat and open, which makes most placements simple, and the real variables are water and distance. The water table sits high, drainage ditches run alongside half the farm roads, and pocosin ground can stay soft a week after the rain quits, so we ask about the last stretch in and whether it has ever rutted. Set a container on turf out here and it will settle unevenly within a season, so we recommend blocks or a compacted pad at the corners. Farm and packing operations through Nash, Edgecombe, Wayne, Greene and Duplin counties buy ahead of tobacco and sweet potato season. Greenville adds a university, a hospital system and a boatbuilding trade. New Bern, Havelock, Jacksonville and Morehead City run on military contractors and marine work. Down East, which in Carteret County means the villages past the North River bridge, and out on the Outer Banks, the details get specific: NC 12 drifts over with sand, some lots have exactly one approach off a sound side lane, and Ocracoke is reachable only by ferry, which we schedule as its own step. Salt air is the last thing worth knowing. A yearly rinse and a touch up on any scratch goes a long way here.

Rural, Remote or Off-Road Property?

We deliver to properties that are not on paved roads, regularly. Tell us the access situation: how long the drive or track is, how tight the turns are, and anything the truck has to cross or pass under. Around here that usually means state maintained secondary road with a four digit SR number, red clay county road, washboard gravel that sets up hard and slicks over after a rain, gravel drive with a soft shoulder, pine straw shoulder, chip-seal that goes soft in August heat, the old road the four lane bypassed, field road, turn row along the edge of a planted field, tobacco path between the rows, pack house lane and tobacco barn drive, packing shed apron, logging deck, skid trail, pulpwood landing, cattle gap, one lane bridge with a posted weight limit, creek ford that runs after a hard rain, sugar sand lane through the longleaf pines, sand ridge two track in the Sandhills, hardpan under two inches of loose sand, ditch bank road along a drainage canal, pocosin edge that stays soft a week after the rain quits, blackwater swamp crossing, sound side lot with one narrow approach, marsh causeway, beach access road that drifts over with sand, gap road and cove road up in the mountain counties, holler road that narrows before it ends, switchback with a hairpin a truck cannot make in one pull, driveway cut into a bank with a culvert pipe under it, hunt club gate at the end of a private club road, power line easement used as a back way in, kudzu covered right of way that hides the ditch line. For most properties a standard tilt-bed handles it. Where it will not, we will say so before you order rather than after the truck arrives.
